I remember growing up and going to Coach Watt’s basketball camps. At the beginning of every camp we would all circle up in the middle and he would talk to us about his life and playing basketball and goals we should set. Something that stood out to me was at every one of these camps he would ask all of us, “How many of you want to play Division 1 basketball when you grow up?” And everyone, including me, would raise his or her hand. I feel like everyone in that gym wanted it, but not everyone knew exactly what he or she would need to sacrifice in order to make those dreams a reality. So my hope in telling my story is to give you an idea of the sacrifices that you need to make if playing basketball in college is really something you want to do.

This is just the beginning of the story… stay tuned for the next entry of AJ’s journey to D1 basketball!
